verse 1: (In English)
D
I -
          G
I will be king,
    D
And you,
            G
You will be queen.
       C/G
Though nothing will,
           D
Drive them away.
       C/G
We can beat them,
G D
Just for one day.
          Am
We can be heroes,
Em D
Just for one day

verse 2: (In English)
    D
And you,
           G
You can be mean.
    D
And I,
                   G
I'll drink all the time.
       C/G
'Cause we're lovers,
              D
And that is a fact.
    C/G
Yes we're lovers,
G D
And that is that.

verse 3: (In English)
       D
Though nothing,
               G
Will keep us together.
               D
We could steal time,
G D
Just for one day.
          Am
We can be heroes,
Em D
For ever and ever.

What d'you say? (Spoken)

verse 4:
D
Du -
             G
Koenntest du schwimmen,
    D
Wie Delphine.
            G
Delphine es tun,
        C/G D
Niemand gibt uns eine Chance.
     C/G
Doch wir koennen siegen,
G D
Fuer immer und immer.
                  Am
Und wir sind dann Helden,
Em D
Fuer einem Tag.

VERSE 5:
D
Ich, -
             G
Ich bin dann Koenig.
    D

        G
Du Koenigin.
       C/G
Obwohl sie,
            D
Unschlagbar scheinen.

Werden wir Helden,
G D
Fuer einen Tag.
    Am
Wir sind dann wir,
Em D
An diesem Tag.

VERSE 6:
D
Ich, -
               G
Ich glaubte zu träumen. (sie träumen)
    D
Die Mauer,
G
Im Ruecken war kalt. (so kalt)
D G
Schuesse reissen die Luft, (reissen die Luft)
         D
Doch wir kuessen.
              G
Als ob nichts geschieht, (nichts geschieht)
        C/G D
Und die Scham fiel auf ihre Seite.
                  Am
O wir koennen sie schlagen,
     Em
Fuer alle Zeiten.
              C/G
Dann sind wir Helden,
G D
Nur diesen Tag.

Dann sind wir Helden.
           D
Nur diesen Tag,
              G

VERSE 7: (In English)
D G
We're nothing,
    D G
And nothing will help us.
C/G D
Maybe we're lying,
     C/G G D
Then you better not stay.
                Am
But we could be safer,

Just for one day.

Notes.
1. This was a 1977 German release, 12": RCA / PC-9821 (GER),
    ’’Heroes'"/"'Helden'" (English/German version) ’ 6:09.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%22Heroes%22_%28David_Bowie_song%29
2. ’Guitarist Robert Fripp of King Crimson provided a harder-edged sound on ’Heroes.’ Quotation marks
were used around the title to express irony. Like ’Low,’ ’Heroes’ was recorded at Hansa Studios,
known at the time as ’Hansa by the Wallâ? for its proximity to the imposing structure that divided
West from East Berlin. The view from the control room would inspire Bowie to write the title track.

3. Depending on your preference, the timbre of the guitar sounds more suitably sonorous, with strummed
    chords in the second position.
4. I’ll provide the English translation, if required? :-R
