Use index finger to bar 2nd fret, then hammer-on with your pinky.

If you want in the verse you can alternate between A9 and A,
then D9 and D. To make it simpler just play the regular chord
instead of the 9th and on the bass note chords (ie A/G#) just
play A or E/G# play E.
